It's the Little Things

I've missed making lists and random thoughts. Here's my top 10 bundles of happiness this week.

1. Someone's back!!! I'm just happy you're back for good, Flo. : ) New foodie adventures for us. =)

2. Driving. I realized that I've really missed driving. I look forward to alone time -- singing with whatever's playing on the radio. I had an exciting ride last Wednesday, and was very thankful for the light traffic in EDSA.

3. Friendskami meet up at Gerry's and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Trinoma. Just like the old times. :) I'm glad I still went out to see you despite being tired from work. It's really amazing how far we've come, yet with all the changes, I know I can still count on you. :,)

4. Free Krispy Kreme doughnut and coffee! : ) It's a good thing I remembered that I still haven't claimed my free doughnut and coffee when I arrived at Ortigas ridiculously early on Friday. Instant breakfast, yeay! And I've always loved doughnuts!

5. The normal Friday night. The normal, the usual, the ritual tambay Friday night. Always a bundle of happiness, especially with good vibes food at Next Door Noodles by North Park. And of course, the company of friends and the various points of conversation that kept me from leaving until early the next morning.

6. Finishing the 3K run! When I slept at 2:30 AM on Saturday morning, my prayer consisted of only 1 line -- "Lord, sana magising ako ng 4:30 for the run." When I did, I had another one-liner for God -- "Lord, sana hindi ako bumagsak." Inspite of the lack of sleep, Flo and I still finished the 3K run! And that was enough for us. It feels good to help out worthy causes (Haribon and Kythe) and being healthy at the same time.

7. Breakfast at Bread Bag Pandesal Bar. Yummy pandesal breakfast with Floflo and Nhizy. This is it -- our first since Flo got home! Yummy pesto + kesong puti. The girls are back! And I'm happeeee! :x

8. A quiet Saturday night. It's been a while since I've been home on a Saturday night. And I appreciated the loss of stuff to do. Here's to Pet Society, Twitter, Multiply, and level-up YM conversations!

9. Baby sunflowers are already growing along Univ Ave. Soon it'll be a sea of yellow. : ) And I think I've mentioned time and time again how sunflowers make me happy. :)

10. God Blessed the Broken Road. I love the message of this song and I've been listening to it over and over since last night...

Every long lost dream
Led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart
They were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way
Into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you. : )

I guess this only reaffirms how much of a little thing person I am. It's the little things that make me happy. I like them better than the big stuff, because when you start counting, you realize just how blessed you are. A free doughnut, time with friends and family, a pleasant surprise, driving alone, a thoughtful gesture -- even just one is enough to make my day. : )

  10. Oh my God mare...God Blessed the Broken Road! Ako rin! I went jogging last night and it was one of the two songs that played repeatedly on my mp3 player (along with David Cook's Always Be My Baby....hehe). Not exactly the kind of song to pump you up during long runs. But still...I like it! Quite a meaningful song for me too! I like the sense of positivity and gratefulness in it. Hehe! What a coincidence ano? Hehe!
