Kay Tagal...

How long is too long? Just how hard is it to let go?

Kay Tagal

Kay tagal
Kay tagal ko nang naghihintay sa yo
Sabihin sa kin ang laman ng puso mo
Ngunit kahit anong gawin
Di mo ako pinapansin

Bakit ba
Bakit ba nasasaktan ang puso ko?
Di ko masabing may gusto ako sa yo
Kung sana'y kaya kong gawin
Di na ako maninimdim

Kay tagal
Na para bang ako'y mababaliw
Sabihin mong ako'y mahal mo rin
Minamahal kita
Lingapin mo sana
Kay tagal...

Sunflower Love

It's my favorite time of the year at UP's University
Avenue as the sunflowers are in full bloom. Ever since I graduated,
I've loved sunflowers. Now, they are sweet reminders of the following:

Accomplishment
- It's only once a year that sunflowers are planted in UP. And it's
always just in time for graduation. That's why to me, like the sablay,
sunflowers signify graduation and accomplishment.

Summer
- Also planted during the summer months, sunflowers celebrate the
season of summer. And also of beaches, of tan lines, of no classes and
sometimes, of chicken pox.

Happiness
- There's something about sunflowers that makes me smile. Maybe it's
the cheery color of yellow. Or how they remind me of so many memories.
Or how they only grow once a year. I guess that's what makes it stand
out. The fact that something isn't there all the time is enough to get
you hyped for it. And more so, there's enough time to make you miss it
when it's gone and realize how bare everything is without it.
