Yum yum

I appreciate good food. Mama always tells us never to be frugal when
it comes to food. I may be a bit weight-conscious but I splurge
whenever I get the chance (read: everyday).

I rarely eat breakfast. Normally it's
just my oatmeal or hot chocolate in the office. On special days,
breakfast would be pancakes or waffles. Oh gosh, I love waffles! And butter and maple syrup and Hershey's chocolate syrup! Pancake House is my house and Heaven and Eggs is indeed heaven. Lunch with Mike F on Thursday was at the Pancake Island, could you imagine? Cocorama at Shangri-La was created by the makers of Heaven and Eggs. They serve their meals with... guess what? Pancakes! Yum yum.
I had a stack of pancakes topped with blueberry, strawberry and whipped
cream. I was so excited (and hungry) to eat them that I didn't get to
take a picture. So here's a picture of Mike's buttermilk pancakes
instead. Sidenote: Flo, I promise we'll eat there when you get back.

I loooove pasta. Sbarro, Aveneto, Green Tomato, Amici, Fazoli's, Don Henrico's, Chef d' Angelo's, The Old Spaghetti House -- I loooove pasta places. I had lunch with Chris on Tuesday at Fuzion and I had my favorite safe dish: pesto pasta. This had pesto cream, chicken and a bacon strip. The reason why pesto is a safe for me is because it's always yummy with pasta. Even simple college Gloria's pesto is enough for me. Yum yum.

It goes without saying that I love desserts. The diabetic side of me craves for sugar. A simple Kitkat does it for me on a normal merienda. During college, comfort food was any cake at Chocolate Kiss.
So whenever I was pouty-sad I had Devil's Food Cake or Kahlua Butter
Cake or Chocolate Chip Cheesecake with me. This week there was Melty
Kiss chocolate at the office. The name is funny but true as well,
because it really was a melty kiss in my mouth. Yum yum.

Thank you Lord for the food that makes me fat. Yum yum.

AmAzeD!!! :)

Another wedding in the family. After going through the emotions at Ate Cel's wedding, we all thought we could handle it better. But of course, it's hard to give our Ate Mai away. This is why it's hard to be in a family of girls.

The wedding was held at the Christ the King Church on February 25. Reception followed at Sofitel (formerly Westin). Ate Mai was of course, very beautiful and picture perfect. The reception was great -- the food, the bouquet toss (which thankfully I didn't win), the dancing after the program, and of course Kuya Allan and Kuya Mark's version of this song for the couple's first dance.

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time, every time
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes

Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you

And yes, I am still very much amazed by your love, Ate Mai and Kuya Paul.  Kuya Paul, welcome to the family. I love and miss you both!

Cousin Snapshots 1997 and 2007

Christmas of 1994 was the best Christmas I had when I was a kid. It was the first time my whole family was here for our grandparents' golden wedding anniversary. It was the first time I got to spend quality time with my cousins. The last time we were complete (all 9 of us) was in 1997. I was thirteen, first year high school.

Now, 10 years later, we celebrate a different wedding - our cousin, Ate Myra, got marreid to Kuya Paul on February 25. There are not only 9 of us, because with Paula being born less than a month after the '97 picture was taken, that makes us an even 10. This time, with all the families represented, this makes our attendance the closest to perfect in 10 years (Paula not in picture).

We've grown to be the ones getting married and having babies. We're not kids anymore - we already have careers. One can say it would be great to be together as kids again, but the beauty in reality is that nothing can top a childhood with the best Christmas of '94. And that we continue to build Mangaser cousin memories til now.

I'm sure that ten years from now, we'd still be smiling in front of the camera, this time flanked with husbands and wives and babies. But still cousins. Always.
