A year ago... Where was I? Where were you?
Last year was a very eventful year. I was at the crossroads. I made
some very critical decisions. And I went through some very emotional
times.
Now, after a year, I can't help but look back and contemplate.
Last year I was...
- Defending e-NoDeS at the Undergraduate Research Competition in Eng'g. Meeting some new people.
- Donning my sablay during graduation. Taking pictures with Oble and the pretty sunflowers.
- Driving around the campus, crying, and saying goodbye to UP.
- Attending our Graduation Ball. In pink, loveless, dreamy-eyed, and contemplative.
- Looking forward to Ate Cel and Kuya Sonny's wedding and hoping that by then, a prince will already be by my side.
- Looking for a job. Going to a ton of interviews. Walking in high heels in Makati, Libis, Ortigas and everywhere else.
- Having the very first summer outing with friendskami. An unforgettable Labor Day weekend.
- Preparing for our 3-week-long US vacation. Literally packing all our wearable clothes.
This year I am...
- Considering e-NoDeS as my last programming experience to date.
Remembering less and less of AI. Still friends with new people I met
back then.
- Seeing the tarps along the University Avenue with the pictures of
friends from last year's University Graduation. Looking at the
sunflowers longingly while jogging. Can't help thinking that last
year's sunflowers were prettier.
- Still driving around UP, still visiting the chapel, still can't help
thinking of how beautiful it is in my school. Feeling like I haven't
said goodbye at all.
- Haven't gone to a formal event since GradBall. Still love pink, still loveless, still dreamy-eyed and very much contemplative.
- Looking forward to Ate Cel and Kuya Sonny's wedding which is three
weeks from now. No prince in sight. None even in the horizon.
- Spending a huge part of my life on my job. Buying more high heels
than I could handle. Survived the office move from 35th Makati to 14th
Ortigas.
- Working out my summer schedule with friendskami. Finally deciding to go to the beach in early June, which sucks.
- Preparing for a 3-week business trip. Now packing
light, not packing all my wearable clothes for 3-week trips anymore.
Have spent 11 weeks in 4 different countries abroad in a span of 12
months. Life is not better, but is still good.
A year ago... where were you?
Were you there with me?
