What's your heart wrenching song?

If there's a heart song, then there must be a heart wrenching song. If one makes your heart flutter, then the other makes you clutch your heart in pain.

Last night I was thinking what my heart wrenching song was. I was sad, and sometimes, when I'm sad, I love to wallow. Don't ask me why. Maybe it makes me feel more human.

So I was going through my sister's MP3s:
- I'll be okay (It's time to let you go, it's time to say goodbye...)
- Cool Off (Wag mong isipin na hindi ka na mahal. Sarili ko'y hahanapin ko lang...)
- Halaga (Umiiyak ka na naman...)

And I eventually drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I heard was this song being played on the radio...

I can't make you love me if you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark, in these lonely hours
I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power
But you wont, no you won't
Cause I cant make you love me, if you don't

Just great.

You, what's your heart wrenching song?

  6. hmmm...

"I held her close to me
Coz I know she breaks so easily
    And then I told her
Though I knew no matter how I tried to console her
Then she'd do the best she could
But there are times the best is no damn good
And no matter how you try to be kind
There's always still a part of you you'll leave behind
    When they fall apart
There's no easy way to break somebody's heart."

atsaka "how do you keep the music playing..."

in short, malungkot mga kanta ni james ingram. hehe.

  7. Kahapon nakikinig lang ako sa MP3 collection ko tapos biglang nagplay yung "Cannonball" ni Damien Rice. Biglang sobrang nalungkot ako. Which was weird kasi, apart from the song itself, wala namang dahilan para mag emo-emo ako.

    Stones taught me to fly
    Love taught me to lie
    Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball

Siguro kasi in the past, pag kailangan ko mag-emo yan yung pinapakinggan ko. Hehe.

How come it comes down to nothing?
When I’ve swallowed my own pride
    Can’t see what’s the point
In being your slave for eternity
    But I stand here waiting
Enduring the pain that’s killing me

    Now, I’m sort of thinking
    How about me leaving you?
You will cry, you will sigh and you
Is there anything you wouldn’t do?
    Then you’ll buy my patience
How come I can’t turn you down?
I’m so confused, and so inflamed
Oh, I just can’t stand to see you frown

pangmartyr ang lyrics!! haha miss you chubbs!

  12. "What Sarah Said" by Death Cab for Cutie, it's about losing someone to death :(

Amongst the vending machines and year-old magazines
In a place where we only say goodbye
It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend
On a faulty camera in our minds

And I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose
Than to have never lain beside at all
And I looked around at all the eyes on the ground
    As the TV entertained itself

‘Cause there’s no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news
Then the nurse comes around and everyone lift their heads
And I’m thinking of what Sarah said,
    "Love is watching someone die...

...so who's gonna watch you die?"

Another one's an oldie: "In My Dreams" by Reo Speedwagon:

If only I could stay asleep, at least I could pretend you're thinking of me
'Cause nighttime is the one time I am happy, you see in my dreams:

We climb and climb and at the top we fly
Let the world go on below us, we are lost in time
And I don't know really what it means
All I know is that you love me...
    In my dreams.
